Christmas Cards 2010

OK,,,It's been 3 months....so sorry...been busy and have not made time for my blog. See I admit it. I've made some cards (less than I wanted to) but haven't posted them, but I figure that I'd better get my Christmas Cards shown before the season is over. I have most of these in the Consignment Cottage here in St. Marys.

I made the background for these two cards. Smeared and dabbed some color, stamped the tree, the snowman, the greeting and all of the snowflakes, then added the ribbon. They have been marked as favorites by friends.

I really like this color combination.

I love this patterned paper.

These turned out nicely.

This one took a long time. I had a plan and it fell through...
Not what I had in mind at all, but turned out okay.

 I used this sketch from
Toy's Haven Blog Nov 2nd.
Thanks, Cuz!

I added some Stickles to perk it up. It worked!

Two least favorites... I really do like the paper so I think it's just a coincidence.

Requested Card

My mom has been 'placing orders' for me to make cards for some of our family members as well as her friends. So I usually ask her if she wants them serious or humorous. Well here's one for a dear old friend of hers that I came up with after 'humorous' was the answer.

The 'old' woman stamp is from OCL 'Granny's Support Team'. I masked the chair that was attached so I could use just her. I used water colored pencils for her and the cake stand.
I know that my mom liked it but haven't found out how much her friend did....

Brother's Birthday !

One of my brothers had a birthday this past week and he turned 50 !! That only means that I am next (and last) of the siblings to reach this age in about 14 months. So I had to be fairly careful in making cards for his occasion. Payback is inevitable..... I don't think I did too bad...

This is from me. I recently started heat embossing and just love it. My only problem is to remember to prep the paper so those little unwanted specks won't stick. So I gave him the card with some little black specks on it, but photo shopped it before I uploaded it on here.
I cut out the letters and numbers using my Cricut, stamped the numbers with versa mark and embossed. I ran them through the Xyron and attached them to the card. The designs were all stamped on the card and embossed as well.

Next is a card that I made for my parents to give to my him....I was playing around with ideas and I saw this little car, then remembered a sentiment that I had that would go perfectly with it....so I put it all together...what do you think?

Matthew's 20th Birthday

No more teenagers in my house....My, how time flies.
My little redheaded boy has grown up so quickly.
From baseball to skateboarding,,,,still skateboarding....
well not really grown up either,,,just in size....
Inside Card

I used watercolor pencils for the skateboarder.
The helmet, glove, cleats, ball and bat are CTMH, all heat embossed.
Yes I finally bought a heat embossing gun along with a pack of various colors to play with....
The skateboarder, skateboard and Happy Birthday are from various
stamps that I've had for a while and can't remember who made
them,,,,sorry. (I am trying to get better keeping up with that).
It's pretty neat. The inside sentiment is my own....

Masculine Thank You

This card would be great to use if you had a friend or
neighbor come over and repair you sink, paint your garage,
trim your hedges, or even help you get your car started.

I used Clear Dollar Stamps-Scenic Trees,
Nestabilities Labels and some twine
and brads.

Another "Are You Cured?" - Sickly Pig

I dug around and came across some 'chicken wire' paper that I had
and knew what I wanted to use with it. That poor sickly pig...
Check out the inside with all of those ants.... & the worm...
...eeewwwww!!!

Window Cards

My first attempt(s) didn't turn out too bad. The Owl Card is cute,
but when opened, it didn't leave very much space to write much
more than the signature, but sometimes, that's all that's needed.
I would have had to have lowered the frame in order
to put the greeting over the owl, but hey,,,,lesson learned.
I started to put the inside greeting under the bear, but remembered
the Owl Card....so this one has plenty of room for more comments, etc
I used Nestabilities Label on the Owl Card and Deckled on the Bear Card.

These Boots....

Here's a card I made with boots and I just can't remember who they
belong to (company).I never thought I'd be able to use them,
but you know what?,,,,,I did and it's so cute!!!

I used the Nestabilities Deckled die cuts.

Feeling Slow

Oh, he looks so tired and ill making his way through the garden.

There's my favorite little bugs again.

Just Buzzin'

This is so cute ! I used bugs from several different sets of stamps. The circle where the ant is actually covering up a goofy accident. I was almost through with the card and had a touch of ink on the side of my hand. Well you can take it from there... I was disgusted, but my brain went into high gear and came up with a cool cover-up.

I just love the little bug with the sunglasses!
